The developer of Snowmass Base Village, East West has over 30 years of experience in creating dynamic mountain resort and urban communities. Considered the nation’s premier mountain resort developer, East West’s portfolio includes prior projects throughout Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge, CO, as well as Lake Tahoe, CA, and Deer Valley, UT.
Aspen Skiing Company owns and operates the four mountains of Aspen Snowmass Resort—Snowmass, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain and Buttermilk—as well as hospitality properties including The Little Nell, Residences at The Little Nell, Limelight Aspen and Limelight Ketchum in Ketchum, ID. ASC has become a fixture in the luxury boutique hotel scene and owns and operates numerous retail and rental locations.
Denver-based KSL Capital Partners is a multibillion-dollar private equity firm that invests exclusively in travel and leisure businesses across the world and serves as a major equity investor in the entire Base Village project. KSL executives have deep experience in ski resort operations and development, and together with Aspen Ski Co, they have recently partnered to aggregate some of the country’s premier ski resorts under one company.
Founded in 1976 by R.A. “Chupa” Nelson, RA Nelson LLC is an employee-owned, full-service general contractor headquartered in Avon in Colorado’s Vail Valley with a regional office near Aspen in the Roaring Fork Valley. They specialize in preconstruction, construction management/general contractor services and post-construction/property management services. RA Nelson and East West Partners have a long history of working together on mountain resorts.
One of the premier building and construction companies located in Denver, serving the Colorado, Wyoming and Rocky Mountain regions, Haselden has worked extensively in the Roaring Fork Valley, including the recent expansion of the Aspen Valley Hospital.
